Calethia is an experienced human resources professional with more than 15 years of successful experience in employee benefits, hiring and employee management. Calethia specializes in developing an environment that empowers the authentic expression of diverse voices and building a workforce that reflects the communities served by the organization.
As its Human Resources Director, Calethia is responsible for developing and executing DESC’s human resources strategy in support of the organization’s overall mission and strategic direction. Prior to joining DESC in 2022, Calethia worked for more than 20 years with a Detroit based law firm as their Human Resources Manager and as a member of its diversity and retirement committees. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University at Buffalo in New York, and a Master of Art degree at Wayne State University, in Organizational Communications. Calethia enjoys spending time with family and friends and giving back to her community.
