Madelyne Bernard-Diab is theExecutive Director, Career Centers System for Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation. She is responsible for overseeing the Michigan Works! Career Centers throughout Detroit. She has spent her career committed to assisting people achieve their educational, career and professional goals.
For the past 24 years, Madelyne has spent her career in higher education and workforce development. While at Washtenaw Community College, Madelyne managed the extension center in Ypsilanti where she led strategic initiatives in partnership with local organizations and schools to assist residents in the community. She also coordinated contract and grant training for local companies. Madelyne worked with the Washtenaw County Health department to combat health disparities in the local African American and Latinx community. She also oversaw the employment services contract with Michigan Works! Southeast for Washtenaw, Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale counties. Madelyne worked for the Glacier Hills Retirement Community Foundation assisting in their fundraising efforts and event planning.
Madelyne holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Through her educational and professional experiences, she’s able to use her background working with local African American and Latinx communities, coordinating contracts and grants for local companies, and overseeing employment services at Michigan Works! Southeast, to her oversight of the Michigan Works! Career Centers throughout the City of Detroit.
